I know autumn is almost upon us but I can't stop wanting a black and white striped maxi dress. One of the most basic of summer staples, but I want it for when the weather turns cooler and I can layer it up with boots and a cozy sweater. There is something so fresh and clean about black and white stripes. Love them.

Don't you just want to get away from it all? The crap weather, the monotony of the everyday, the same old routine, the lack of adventure?

Today I would love to head away to a balmy country, and hide away in a luxury tent or yurt or teepee on a lakeside. I would spend my time swimming, laying in the sunshine, reading the pile of books that seem to be growing on my bedside locker.

Today I wish for a long, hot soak in a huge tub. One where I can lie in steaming water up to my neck and not worry about spillage. Where I can keep topping up the tub with limitless hot water and gaze out a convenient window at a beautiful view.

Hmmmm... what to wish for today... I think I'm going to wish for a superpower today, but which one to wish for? 

Super strength? 

X ray vision?

The ability to fly? 

Mind control?

Regenerative powers?

The ability to see into the future?

Think I'm going to have to be a little practical with my superpower wish here and recognise that the cost of petrol is not getting any less. The ability to fly is my number one wish today.

To be able to pop across the country to see some friends seems pretty special to me.

I thought that this week I'd wish for a break in this woeful weather...

but before I could get to a computer this morning and wish it had already come true...

What is your one true wish today? What would make you smile? What would fill you with that glow of joy?

My wish for today is a basic one but not easily obtainable. My wish is for companionship. Even though I am far from being a social butterfly I love having good company around me. I love the hug that your soul feels when you stop and realise that you are happy. The company is good, the conversation is flowing, the smiles are honest and the joy is clearly seen.

What are we wishing for this week my lovelies?

I know that my wishes are revolving around getting on top of this unfortunate head cold, and feeling healthy again.

Time to bring out the big guns - swapping the coffee in my travel mug for honey and lemon in hot water, vitamin C in the drawer at work, warm scarf permanently around my throat, not going outside without a jacket, making sure to eat something wholesome and nutritious at lunchtime and keep my evening meals to a minimum so that I can sleep a little easier, lots of soup, cuddling a hot water bottle while I watch tv at night.

What are your tips for keeping ahead of the spring sniffles? I'd love to add some more to my list.

Did you wish? I did. This week I'm wishing for a picnic with friends. A warm afternoon, a quiet place, a blanket big enough for us all to fit on, some naughty but nice treats and fruity drinks.

Lately I've been wishing for restful sleep. I've been getting my recommended number of hours sleep most nights but I rarely wake up refreshed and full of energy. Right now I'm going to blame it on dark and dreary mornings and will wait for some sunshine to wake me from my slumber.

 Today's wish is for........................ more good memories. 

I was at home with my mum this weekend and we were chatting about my gran, who passed away when I was nine. I remarked to her that I have no bad memories of my gran at all. No memories of her shouting or being cross or being mean. She was a perfect gran... she read me stories, taught me to play draughts and how to knit.

I wish for more of these type of memories.

This week sees the return of Wednesday Wishes. I think this weeks wish is going to be...hmm....

...I wish for a little bit of warm sunshine.

February is fab and all that but spring in Ireland is always a cold event. A little morning sun on my face would be really great right now. I'm not looking for a warm, sunny day at all, just some sun. Chilly, watery spring sunshine.
