You Are A Golden Girl

I woke up this morning to find a parcel inside the front door, and when I opened it look what I found inside.

I have the sweetest friends ever!

Earlier this week I posted about this necklace, and a little while later I got a message on Facebook from Samantha looking for my address. How fantastically, amazingly sweet is that?!?! She also picked out these beautiful earrings as a surprise for me. Isn't she a keeper! But...

...do you really want to know what the best part was? Two other friends came looking for my address so that they could get it for when my birthday came around...

...And when I got home from college today Sonya handed me an identical 'A Box For Your Treasures' package containing the apple tree necklace that she had bought me as a going away present before she moves out in a few weeks.

It's gestures like all those above that let me know that I am incredibly lucky to have friends like I do. Amazing, thoughtful, generous, fantastic friends who make everything better by just being around, whether it's online or downstairs in the sitting room, they always know how to make me smile.

In the immortal words of Blanche, Rose, Dorothy and Sophia
'Thank you for being a friend'

Hugs and lots of love to Samantha and Sonya, and Dawn and Fredrick too

If any one feels like giving me an early birthday present I would not say no to this beautiful apple tree necklace from A Box For My Treasures.

Things I Love Thursday

Writing - I write so rarely that today it was an incredible novelty to write up a quick article covering all the amazing events of the past two weeks for our archery club. Nine days, four competitions, 19 medals, 12 Personal Best scores, another National Champion for UL Archery, and a fundraiser. I feel very proud to be part of such a great bunch of people.

Feeling Better - Having been plagued with sinus and chest infections since Christmas I am finally on the mend. I have taken 2 weeks off and am getting enough sleep, good food, no stress, antibiotics and plenty of vitamins. I hope to be back to full Magatha Mode by next week and will start taking on the world again.

Treating Yourself - This week, just to make myself smile, I bought a small bunch of orange roses for my bedroom. I really didn't think that something so small and insignificant could make me feel so good. Every time I walked into my room I caught sight of them, all cheerful and pretty, when I walked up the stairs I could get the smell. I don't know if I would buy flowers every week - but treating myself might just become a more regular occurrence.

Honourable Mentions - soup (there really is nothing better when you're feeling unwell), the buzz that comes with Students' Union Elections on campus - all week long we've had flyers, guys in very bright t shirts, buskers, a sky dive on campus and even a candy floss machine, sleeping in with no alarm set, finding new ways to tie my scarf - courtesy of Dawn

A Surprise For Mr T

source

Hi to all my beautiful Tuesday readers. Now that the event has passed I can tell you what I got Mr T for our anniversary.

Mr T laments the fact that he doesn't know many people in Galway and doesn't have anywhere to go in the evenings. Ha also laments the fact that he doesn't get to see as many gigs as he would like...

You can see where this is going...

I got Mr T two tickets to go see the fantastic Lisa Hannigan play in Glaway next week. Now I didn't get him one ticket and me another... I got him two so that he could take someone else with him and get to know some more people. He wouldn't have to worry about me getting to Galway and getting back to Limerick for work the following day. He could just go and enjoy the night.

And I think he loved it, yea!

Mum's The Word

It's my mum's birthday on Saturday. I'm going to head home to see her on Friday and Saturday, and I've promised to paint our kitchen for her as a birthday present.

But I also got her another present - she was saying about how lots of customers are not contacting her directly because they don't have her number, so I ordered her some new business cards, matching calendars and some pens from Vistaprint.

I really hope she likes the surprise.

The Wonder of Friends

I got a present, I got a present, I got a present...

A parcel was delivered to my desk yesterday and I opened it to find a new Yoo Move MP3
player inside. I think I should give you the background to this story...

A short while ago my ipod started acting up and not working. Now I use my pod for everything - music, movies, data, everything. I thought about buying a new pod but I didn't want a shuffle, a nano or a touch. I just wanted a classic pod, about 60g in size, for not too much money. It didn't happen. At the same time my camera was being kinda funny too and I really wanted to get a small, slimline camera that would fit into my purse without much difficulty. But my college stipend doesn't really stretch to new cameras or MP3 players so I said that I would wait and that Santa might be nice to me this year...

Until I saw her...

A thing of beauty, the Sony Ericsson W995. And I wanted it so bad. An 8.1mp camera, a great MP3 player, a 2.6" screen to watch everything on. But I wasn't due an upgrade, and it costs a bomb to buy simfree. So I have to wait until my upgrade is due in December to try to get it. So I was musicless, and movieless, and everything-less.

Until yesterday...

Fredrick and Doogle bought me the present. They thought that I should have music in my life and I love them for that. I tried to put up a photo but my everything is being stroppy so a photo of a nice parcel and an image of the player will have to do for now.
So today I am YEA for great friends! Thanks guys, I love you both so much.
