Picnic avec Electric

source

Right... the tickets have been bought (Thank you so much Mr T, as I can't afford to go on my wages this year).

I'm looking into getting a tent. I've check out the line-up. I have a sleeping bag. I'm borrowing an air mattress. We have other friends coming too. I'm trying to find something to wear that I don't mind getting ruined. I got some new sunglasses. I'll bring plenty of baby wipes and cereal bars.

All I need now is a pair of patent purple wellies and a matching rain jacket!

What are your festival essentials?

A Wonderful Gift

source

I got a present in the post!

The wonderful and talented Melissa Esplin of IS.LY sent me a gorgeous hand stitched notebook and a great magnetic bookmark from her Earth Day Giveaway.

Thank you so much, your gift brightened up a very sad week for me.

I'm afraid to write in the notebook though as it is so pretty, and I can't think of anything that I could write in it that would do it justice. Do you ever feel like that about pretty stationary? Melissa hoped that it would help me in my mission to keep everything organised.

I have pictures of the packaging and, Melissa, you have the most gorgeous hand writing!

Pocket Posh

I spotted a post over at Black*Eiffel about these beautiful puzzle books. They are gorgeous, small enough to pop into your handbag and stylish enough to pull out whenever you have a few moments to fill.

And even though Brain Training and the Nintendo DS are all the rage at the moment I much rather have a paper product in my hands.

These books are created by the Puzzle Society and can be bought here. They would be a really great gift for anyone.

Hint hint!

Things I Love Thursday - ish

Weddings - One of my guy friends from college is getting married next month and I can't wait to go. His is one of the first weddings of all my college friends and I have a feeling that it will cause a landslide of engagements. Oh and my dress for it is FANTASTIC!

Heart Shaped Truffles - Mr T surprised me by leaving a Butlers truffle on my pillow the last time I saw him. What a sweetie!

Overusing Exclamation Marks - They're such an easy way to feel excited about everything.

My Cash Cow - Raymy bought me a silver money cow for Christmas which I keep on my desk at college and pour all my crap change into every few days. It's starting to get heavy, so guys next week... coffee is on me!

What keeps you cheery today?

I am so crap... I forgot to set this post to publish yesterday so here it is today instead.

Weeee....

I'm back. There was a little trouble with the servers in the college and I was internet less for the last few days but all is restored and repaired now. Woo hoo.

Oh, I got my gift from Pop ( and Fredrick, now do you feel better?) over the weekend. It was Banana Nectar.... a bottle of banana nectar! What am I supposed to do with banana nectar? I've heard that it's an 'acquired' taste at best, and horrible at worst. Bloody banana nectar! But, oh God, did I laugh when I saw it.

The rest of the weekend was great. I competed in the Irish Student Championships on Saturday in Carlow and finished in 13th place in the advanced category. I was pretty chuffed with myself, but I was so proud of the rest of the team - they brought home 4 medals from the event.
  • Michael took 1st place in beginner barebow
  • Craig took 3rd place in beginner barebow
  • Anna took 3rd place in beginner recurve
  • Rory took 2nd place in advanced recurve
I then spent the rest of the weekend lazing around T's 'home' home in Carlow, listening to his sister play the piano and chatting to his dad about the state of the economy. It was entertaining.

Something nice...

I just got a 'something nice' mail from T and this is what was in it. What a great boyfriend!

I miss him so much lately. You would think that we'd be used to spending time apart at this stage but I still get pangs of loneliness because he's not here.

A Little Something...

A friend of mine, we'll call her Pop, was chatting to me in gmail this morning and told me that she has a little gift for me and that she would give it to me at the Student Championships in Carlow this weekend.
She also gave me some clues about the gift
  • she got it on a plane far away
  • it's yellow
  • and it's see through
  • and she thinks there is white in it too
  • oh it's also funny
I'm officially STUMPED! Can anyone else try to guess this for me? Please?
