Pretty Boy Friday-ish

Hi there Jensen Ackles... how are you today?

Pretty Girl Friday-ish

Kaley Cuoco - otherwise known as Penny from The Big Bang Theory is our sweet but sassy girl for this week.

I had this photo at the top of the page but it was pointed out to me that this isn't Kaley. My apologies for any confusion, and thanks for the heads up Emma

Things I Love Thursday

Black Tie Baby - This weekend I have my first ever black tie wedding to attend. Awfully excited about it all. I have it narrowed down to two outfits - a strapless black linen and knit, ruched, full length dress or a black halterneck, wide leg jumpsuit. Both have the same shoes, bag and jewellery so I really can wait until the last minute to decide. Oh and I have the most amazing head piece to wear. A friend of my mums custom made it to match my accessories - it is the most amazing piece I have ever seen. I promise to have some photos next week.

Growing Up Time - I had this discussion with some friends over the past few weeks... We are finally adults - up until very recently I have never received an invitation to a whole wedding, with the exception of one friend from my college days in Cork (D & MC, I had a fab day). Now a whole wedding to me means that you have friends who are adult enough to get married hence you are also a grown up to even know them. A few years ago I went to a rash of weddings but they were all connected with Mr T and his friends and family. This year it is my turn. Two months, three weddings, two 'plus one's' and a bridesmaids dress. This might just mean that I'm not a kid anymore.

Summer Season - Two words 'True blood', back on our screens for season 4 in just a few short days. Can't wait.

Honourable Mentions - sand between my toes, and in my shoes, and in the car, windswept hair, strawberry syrup on my 99, unexpected messages late at night, using crystal hi-ball glasses as pen holders, turquoise sweat pants and learning to enjoy running, persuading my little dog that running is good for him too, glitter nail polish, almond and coconut scones, Zumba

Things I Love Thursday

Stacks - and stacks of books to read piling up on my bedside table. All just waiting for a lazy, rainy day to be cracked open and devoured. I'm a binge reader - I can go for weeks without reading a book but then I could read a whole book in a day, every day, for a week. I can't wait to get into this, this, this and this. I have little pilesof books scattered throughout every room in every house that I live in. I'm sure I drive my family and housemates crazy but I can rarely bear to part with my books. What books are tickling your brain lately? Any good reads to recommend?

Obsession - I will be the first to admit that I love, love, love Greys Anatomy. All of it, every season, every character. I'm sad... I admit it. If they brought out a perfume I would buy it. I am that obsessed.

Dinner - One of my wonderful, lovely, amazing housemates has offered to cook dinner for the house tonight and I am deeply thankful to her. I am not the worlds best cook, not from a lack of ability but more from a lack of interest. I would be perfectly happy with a bowl of cereal or some scrambled egg if it was left up to me but Ash has promised us something yum when we get home from the gym tonight. Can't wait!

Honourable Mentions - a cafe who offers a free chocolate with every hot drink (Melt Cafe, if you're wondering), high pony tails and messy buns, realising that there are few things as satisfying as shopping for new lingerie, finding a perfectly beautiful pair of wide leg black trousers reduced from €95 to €10, surprise sugar related presents, losing a dress size from increased exercise and not from dieting, mint hot chocolate, an unexpected round of drinks from a friend at the other end of the bar, short skirts and warm tights, weekends to go home and visit family, when things go right for other people

Things I Love Thursday

Coconut Anything - coconut cake, coconut ice cream, coconut hot chocolate, coconut body lotion, coconut lip balm, coconut everything. I just can't get enough of it.... must be my subconscious longing for summer and holidays 'sigh'.

Unabashed Prettiness - Everything looks better with a little flourish. A glass of water become something lovely when the glass is special. Dinner becomes an event with a cloth napkin and nice cutlery. A movie night in becomes wonderful when curled up under a beautiful blanket. Try it.

Greys Anatomy Re-Runs - Reliving the drama of season 1, 2 and 3 at the moment. Oh George, you are so sweet. Karev you just look tired and Meridith is still a mess. Hours and hours of endless entertainment.

Honourable Mentions - Halloween costumes on sale, this list of things that money can't buy, the weather being cold enough to light the fire in the sitting room again, friends who call over and tell you that you're going baking brownies - now!, another list - this time of semi productive things you can do while trying to be unproductive, Gala's Sad Trombone List (I really am all about the lists this week)

A Tuesday Ritual

source

Tonight is a night for some Chinese takeaway, a fire in the hearth, good company from some wonderful women and McSteamy. I love our Tuesday ritual. And to make ourselves feel extra good we added a 2 hour slot in the gym to our Tuesdays, to make up for the takeaway.

Do you have any rituals in your week? What makes it into your routine?

Blood And TV

source

I don't know about everyone else but I love to read when I'm away on holiday. Well not just reading but devouring books like there's no tomorrow. At home I get to snatch half an hour before I head for bed and I feel bad for being so self-indulgent but I never feel guilty about reading when I'm away.

When I got home from holidays I was still in reading mode though so I decided to re-read Twilight, and now that I'm in vampire mode I thought that I might get my hands on True Blood and see what the hype is all about. Season 1 is on it's way and I hope to spend a lazy weekend immersed in it soon.

Have any of you watched it? What do you think? Do you feel guilty about reading?

Susan Boyle Makeover

Have you seen the transformation?

The Britain's Got Talent star has dropped 10 years off her look. A facial, an eyebrow shaping, some hair dye and new clothes and she looks like a whole new woman.

Congratulations to her on all her success so far and I hope to see much more of her in the future. If you've been hiding under a rock lately and haven't seen her performance click HERE to view her extraordinary talent.
