Today I wish for...
... someone to call over to my house and magically decorate it for Thursdays Halloween Party.
How about you? What do you wish for today?

Things I Have Learned
1. Milk is not good for you
2. The size on the waistband of your jeans means nothing as long as you are healthy
3. Dancing is good for you at any time
4. If you want to get attention and be noticed carry a puppy in your arms
5. Sometimes it can be too late to say sorry
6. Cookies are not a dinner
7. No man is worth feeling foolish over
8. Always carry an umbrella in your bag
9. Sweat a little every day
10. There is very little that a friend, a hug and a cup of tea can't fix
11. Everything looks better with fairy lights
12. Get enough sleep

Things I Love Thursday
Clint Mansell Instrumentals - A perfect way to calm down a crazy world. My recommendations for this week are this song, this one and this song.
Physical Contact - A hug, an actual, physical, arms around you hug, is sometimes all a person needs to feel instantly better. Now I am not a hug type of person but over the last few weeks I have found myself looking to friends for a hug to make problems seem less and me feel better. So today please make sure that you hug at least one other person.
Honourable Mentions - this series of photos taken by a father of his daughter as she grew up, pistachios and the mess they make all over the table, a warm duvet and a bad movie, this stop motion baking video, remembering that I have a full tub of ice cream hidden the freezer and not eating it, Tetleys tea

Wednesday Wishes

This Wednesday I think I shall... wish... for... something... totally fantastical and impossible.
Like a never ending coffee cup that keeps your coffee at the perfect temperature, always...
or...
clothes that hang themselves back in the wardrobe when you are done with them...
If you had an impossible wish, and you can't wish for world peace or a cure to something terrible, it has to be a selfish wish,
what would your wish be today?

Pretty Girl Friday
Girls with freckles are so pretty. You know that if you can see freckles then they haven't covered their face in loads of make up and they are fresh and clean and sweet looking.

Things I Love Thursday

The First Of Many - This weekend sees the first person of my undergrad class getting married to his sweetheart. I am expecting bow ties, converse, wonderful music and the opportunity to dance the night away with much loved and often missed classmates.
Honourable Mentions - bagels with garlic spiked cream cheese, lots of reasons why you should dress up everyday, coconut hot chocolate = YUM, Reservoir Dogs, Qee style, this creature of comfort to wrap my arms around at night, things you can do to be a Fairy Princess, free nail polish with my magazine this month (it's the little things that make me smile)

'A ruffled mind makes a restless pillow' - Charlotte Brontë

A few months ago I told you all about how I learned to sleep alone again when a five year relationship ended. It was strange and liberating to have a whole bed to myself again and I loved it. But then S moved out and I moved into her room - cause I really wanted the electric shower - and I found myself back on one side of the bed again.
How did that happen? I don't have another significant other, I'm not looking to make space for one in my life right now, so how the hell did I end up drifting back out to the edge of the mattress. I woke up one morning last week after another night of edge hugging and asked myself what was going on? And then I realised.... when I had made up my new bed I had automatically put the pillows into two piles at the head of the bed, and therefore I had automatically slept on one pile of them... on one side of the bed.
That evening I stripped the bed and as I remade it I carefully put just one huge pile of pillows at the top... and it worked. I was back in the middle of my bed.
Have you ever found that you do things out of habit that impact of the rest of your day?

“The journey not the arrival matters.” – T. S. Eliot

Do you ever waste a whole journey waiting to get to the end? I have... several times and it's amazing how much you miss.
This holds true for all sorts of things in your life. Have you ever rushed through dinner just to get to the dessert? Sprinted through a book to get to the twist at the end? Ignored the joy of getting ready for a night out just to get to the event?
This week please do something for me and for yourself. Spend a little time enjoying the journey... the smells and sounds of making your breakfast before you eat it... the walk to work or college... the smell of clean clothes as you put them away and think about the next time you get to wear them.
'hugs'

I got my ticket!
The Circus of Horrors is doing one night only in the UCH here in Limerick and I got myself a front row seat to watch all the madness, mayhem and midgets.
I am refusing to watch any of the show online so that I can be properly wowed by it all, but I've heard good things about it.
Have you ever seen The Circus of Horrors show? What did you think?

Pretty Girl Friday
source
This weeks nominated Pretty Girl is Rachel Bilson, most widely known for her role as Summer in The OC. A classic beauty with lots of sass and style.
Even though Bilson scrubs up well I always prefer her dressed down in slouchy jeans, hat, giant shades and a cup of coffee in her hand. She does casual chic like no other. Ms. Bilson... today we salute you.
